The G7X Mark II was launched at a lower price than the X-M5, despite having a lens built in. Many modern cameras cannot only take still pictures, but also record videos. The two cameras under consideration both have sensors whose read-out speed is fast enough to capture moving pictures, but the X-M5 provides a better video resolution than the G7X Mark II. Yet, some cameras only have an electronic shutter, while others have an electronic shutter in addition to a mechanical one.
